Driveway repair costs $100 to $400 for fixing small cracks and patching potholes, or $600 to $3,000 for major repairs and resurfacing, on HomeGuide (national average $1,200, based on 1,192 project costs reported by HomeGuide members, as published). Fixr prices concrete driveway repair specifically at $1,000 to $1,500 with a $1,250 national average for patching a 24-by-24-foot driveway — a concrete-only scope. Angi prices the work by method: patching at $2 to $3 per square foot, resurfacing at $3 to $7 per square foot, and replacement at $7 to $14 per square foot in its comparison table. The three pages define the job differently, so their totals aren’t like-for-like (January 2025 to July 2026).123

Concrete repair cost by problem and solution

Fixr prices concrete driveway repair at $1.10 to $4.5 per square foot or $150 to $200 per pothole depending on the problem, as published, with labor included.2

Problem Repair cost, labor included
Sunken apron $1.10 – $1.40 per square foot
Hairline crack $1.75 – $2 per square foot
Pitting $1.75 – $2 per square foot
Crumbling $1.75 – $2 per square foot

Cracking $2 – $2.50 per square foot
Spalling $2.50 – $4 per square foot
Sinking $4 – $4.50 per square foot
Pothole $150 – $200 per hole

By repair solution on the same page, as published: sealing $0.25 to $0.50 per square foot, patching $1.75 to $2 per square foot, leveling $1.80 to $25 per square foot depending on method, and resurfacing $2.50 to $4 per square foot. Fixr prices mudjacking at $14 per square foot — far above HomeGuide’s $3 to $6 per square foot for the same-named method; the pages don’t reconcile the difference, figures as published.12

Patch, resurface, or replace

Angi compares the three options, as published: patching at $2 to $3 per square foot plus $20 to $60 for an asphalt squeegee, resurfacing at $3 to $7 per square foot, and replacement at $7 to $14 per square foot in its comparison table, though its text separately cites about $15 per square foot to repave — an internal inconsistency the page doesn’t reconcile. Angi’s durability rows — 2 to 3 years for patching, 5 to 10 years for resurfacing, and 15 to 20 years for replacement — are the page’s own averages, not predictions for a specific driveway.3

HomeGuide’s repair-or-replace framing, as published: replacement runs $6 to $15 per square foot for concrete or $5 to $12+ per square foot for asphalt repaving, and it frames resurfacing as the candidate for driveways under 20 years old with minor cracks or spalling. Fixr prices concrete replacement at $5 to $24 per square foot including labor, or $2,900 to $13,800 for a 24-by-24-foot driveway — different scopes from separately owned publishers, so the ranges aren’t like-for-like.12

Labor and related costs

Fixr publishes labor at $65 to $85 per hour for concrete driveway repair, with resealing jobs averaging two to four hours ($130 to $680 in labor) and resurfacing about a day. HomeGuide notes minimum service fees of $100 to $250 apply to crack and pothole work, prices driveway sealing at $1 to $2 per square foot for asphalt and $1 to $3 per square foot for concrete, and puts structural-engineer inspection at $100 to $220 per hour for cracks suggesting larger issues. Angi separately cites an average of $500 to seal an asphalt driveway — different scopes as published.123

DIY notes

Crack filling is the DIY end of driveway repair. HomeGuide prices DIY crack repair at $5 to $10 for sealant or $8 to $12 for pre-mixed patching compound covering 3 square feet, crack filler at $5 to $10 per bottle for up to 24 linear feet of cracks under a quarter-inch wide, repair kits at $5 to $10 for crack filler or $8 to $30 for ready-mix patching compound, and trowels or squeegees at $10 to $30; Angi likewise describes patching narrow cracks as the DIY-suitable option while steering resurfacing and replacement to pros.13 For DIY browsing, Home Depot’s asphalt crack filler category covers fillers and patching products (non-affiliate link).
